26 January Dinner

It is that time of year again!  On January 26, the last Monday in January, we shall be having our traditional reception in the River Room of the House of Lords at which a number of legal and diplomatic notables will be meeting members of the Society.  The River Room is too small to accommodate all who might wish to attend there, but this disappointment is palliated by the prospect of a fine dinner in the august premises of the Athenaeum in nearby Pall Mall.  Due to the event in the House of Lords we shall start a bit later than usual for an evening dinner - eight pm for eight thirty. 

For a number of years now we have had the pleasure of a cheerful dinner in distinguished surroundings and I trust that this dinner will match our expectations.  So this message is to alert you to the fact that if you wish to attend a dinner with good food and interesting wines, please make a reservation by sending an email to [email protected]   The price of the dinner, to be paid on the night,  will be 100 pounds and for members under thirty years (places limited) it will be 30 pounds.  Members may bring a guest. If you have allergies please alert us when making your booking.   Likewise if you are vegetarian.  And if you are unable at the last moment to come, you will still have to pay ...The Garden Room has capacity for eighty people and in previous years we had to turn people away.  So book early.
