ANNUAL FRANCO-BRITISH LEGAL CAREERS FORUM
All law students, trainees and recently qualified lawyers are invited to attend the in person Forum organised in conjunction with The University of Law.
Members of the Panel will address different aspects of legal careers in particular in the UK and France.
All talks will be in English but questions in French are welcome.
Followed by drinks kindly provided by the University of Law.

Catherine Palmer
After training in the City to become a solicitor, Catherine’s career was inhouse (fashion and food), leading teams of lawyers working across several countries, including France and the UK. Since September, Catherine is a partner at Irwin Mitchell, and heads up its growing French desk.

Solicitor at Dawson Cornwell Solicitors (who started her legal career as a paralegal) in the Private Client and Family Law Department.
Sally Osborn
Notary Public, Past President of the Notaries Society; retired English solicitor with a London practice where she set up the “French Department”
Arthur Kay-Ingrams
Arthur is an international policy assistant for Europe and the Americas at The Law Society of England and Wales. Prior to joining the Law Society, he worked as a researcher at The Legal 500, a leading global rankings directory. Arthur holds a master's degree in Multimedia Journalism from the University of Kent.
Oliver Chapman
Oliver Chapman is the international policy adviser for Europe and Central Asia at the Law Society. Prior to this, he worked as a lawyer in a human rights NGO and at the Council of Europe. He is Franco-British and holds an LL.M. in public international law from Leiden University.

Specialising in fintech regulations. Currently affiliated with the City Launch Lab, the start up accelerator program and contributes to CLAC (City Community Legal Advice Centre) at City , University of London.

Imane Bellafqih
Imane Bellafqih is a solicitor in the Banking and Finance practice group of Gide's London office. She completed her training contract at the Firm and qualified as a Solicitor of England and Wales in September 2022. Imane acts for financial institutions and corporates in securitisation transactions, as well as on a broad range of multi-jurisdictional banking and finance transactions. During her training contract at Gide, Imane has spent time working with the International Dispute Resolution team in London, the Projects (Finance & Infrastructure) group in London and Casablanca and the Banking and Finance group in London. Before joining Gide, Imane spent one year as a banking associate at a market-leading US law firm in Paris and interned at several international law firms in London, Paris and Casablanca. She holds an LLB in Law from SOAS University of London, an MSc in Law and Finance from Queen Mary University of London and the Legal Practice Course from BPP University's School of Law.
